Practical insights into "vertical greenery" were gained during our excursion through the NeckarPark model district in Stuttgart. 

As part of an excursion through Stuttgart’s NeckarPark model district, we explored façade greening as a component of contemporary urban development. During the tour, we gained practical insights into different greening systems and their specific requirements in terms of planning, construction, maintenance and long-term development.

The visit also demonstrated the importance of early coordination between landscape architects, architects and system manufacturers. Integrating planting, technical requirements and maintenance concepts from the outset can help create façade greening systems that are well integrated into the architectural design and designed for successful long-term operation.
