Practical insights into “vertical greenery” were gained during our excursion through the sustainable NeckarPark model district in Stuttgart.

As part of an excursion through Stuttgart’s future-oriented NeckarPark model district, we explored façade greening as an important element of climate-adapted urban development. During the tour, we gained practical insights into different greening systems and their requirements in terms of planning, maintenance and long-term development. The visit highlighted the importance of early coordination between landscape architecture, building architecture and manufacturers to ensure that green façades are ecologically effective, visually compelling and sustainably maintainable over time.
