Nature-inspired Garden meets purist living

Across 1,600 square metres, we created an outdoor retreat for a private client that unites contemporary residential architecture with a natural garden environment – forming a harmonious living space in which each area has its own identity. Structured basalt elements define the zones close to the house. Large-format slabs and precisely crafted steps lead up to the elevated entrance, their dark anthracite tones echoing the architectural language of the building. As a lively counterpart, organically placed Fürstenstein boulders accompany the entire garden. A five-metre monolith makes a powerful statement in the front garden. In the rear section, these distinctive stones structure the sloping terrain, create transitions and frame tranquil spaces such as the timber deck with fire pit and the sheltered seating areas. The modern garden retreat is complemented by diverse, nature-inspired plantings of shrubs, grasses and perennials. At the centre stands the multi-stemmed ornamental apple Malus ‘Rudolph’ – a characterful focal point shaping the atmosphere of the garden throughout the year.
