Situated between Buildings 12 and 14 on the Heilbronn Education Campus, we designed the outdoor spaces for the Future Store—an innovative research and retail concept focused on the future of shopping behavior.
Launched in 2021, the “Shopbox” and “Collectbox”—two autonomous retail units—feature a striking 3D-effect façade made of mirror-polished stainless steel. This futuristic architecture is set in deliberate contrast to the calm, functional design of the surrounding plaza and open space. Our goal was to create an understated outdoor environment that highlights the store’s innovation without visually competing with it.
The Future Store allows students and staff to purchase snacks, beverages, toiletries, and frozen goods 24/7—entirely digital and without staff—or to pre-order via app and pick up contactlessly.
