Located directly on Stuttgart’s main shopping street, Königstrasse, the “Hofbräueck” office and commercial building is a landmark of the upper pedestrian zone. Originally built in the 1950s, the building underwent a comprehensive renovation and vertical expansion between 2018 and 2020.
In collaboration with Auer Weber Architekten, who occupy offices in the building, we were responsible for designing and implementing all outdoor spaces - starting from the initial design concept, through permitting and construction documentation, to assisting with construction supervision.
The result: three lush rooftop terraces on the upper floors, offering outdoor spaces for employees to relax and recharge. The use of hardy ornamental grasses creates a welcoming atmosphere and supports urban biodiversity by providing habitat for insects - an important ecological contribution in densely developed Stuttgart.
At street level, we redesigned the entrance area to the restaurant facing Königstrasse. Carefully selected paving materials create a seamless transition between the public realm and the building, enhancing the pedestrian experience.
